At Star Wars Celebration Japan, Electronic Arts (EA), in collaboration with Bit Reactor and Lucasfilm Games, unveiled Star Wars Zero Company™, a single-player turn-based tactics game set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. Scheduled for release in 2026, the game promises an immersive Star Wars experience with deep tactical gameplay and a gripping original story.
In Star Wars Zero Company, players will take on the role of Hawks, a former Republic officer, leading an elite squad of operatives known as Zero Company. This unconventional team, hailing from across the galaxy, must overcome their differences to face an emerging threat that could consume the galaxy. The game combines tactical operations, investigations, and base-building, offering players the freedom to customize their squad and make meaningful choices that impact the story.
Tactical gameplay with a cinematic touch
Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor, emphasized the game’s focus on blending the Star Wars galaxy with engaging turn-based tactics. “It’s our aim to deliver a game with an original Star Wars story from the Clone Wars era that has meaningful outcomes from player choices, and deep turn-based tactical combat with an approachable and cinematic presentation,” he said.
Players can customize Hawks’ appearance and combat class, as well as recruit and personalize operatives from a variety of Star Wars character classes and species, including Clone Troopers, astromechs, and even a Jedi. Squad members can forge bonds during missions, unlocking powerful combat synergies that can turn the tide of battle.
Developed by strategy game veterans
Star Wars Zero Company is being developed by Bit Reactor, a studio founded by veterans of the strategy game genre. The team includes developers who worked on acclaimed titles like XCOM, Civilization, and Gears of War. Their expertise ensures a polished and innovative gameplay experience.
The game is set to launch in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Fans can already wishlist the game and follow updates on EA Star Wars’ social media channels.
