Bitget, one of the world’s top crypto exchanges, has teamed up with Avalanche, a leading smart contracts platform, to help grow India’s Web3 community. This new partnership aims to make blockchain technology more popular and accessible across the country.

Avalanche has been working hard in India, joining hands with government agencies for welfare projects and launching a mini-grants program to support developers at all levels. Bitget is also investing in India’s future through its Blockchain4youth program, which has promised $10 million over five years for scholarships, workshops, and hackathons. Bitget’s Blockchain4Her initiative is focused on supporting women-led Web3 projects in India and around the world.

The collaboration started with the ‘HODL ON’ tour, which held its first two events in Delhi and Bangalore. These meetups aimed to teach people about blockchain and cryptocurrencies, helping more Indians understand and use these new technologies.

Devika Mittal, Regional Head at Ava Labs, said, “India has a very strong Web3 community. Our goal is to give every Web3 fan, no matter where they are, a place to connect and build.” She also mentioned that 2025 will see many new projects launching on Avalanche, with lots of activity expected from developers.

Jyotsna Hridyani, South Asia Head at Bitget, added, “Giving people the right knowledge is key to unlocking blockchain’s full potential in India. At Bitget, we want to bridge the gap through community programs, partnerships with universities, and easy-to-use learning tools.”

The main goal of this partnership is to reach more cities in India with events and workshops, teaching young people about the benefits and uses of blockchain technology. Both Bitget and Avalanche have promised to keep investing in similar programs throughout 2025.

India, already the second-largest market

India is already a global leader in crypto adoption and is the second-largest market for Web3 developers. With over 1,000 Web3 startups, Bitget hopes to double this number in 2025 by offering funding and mentorship. The ‘HODL ON’ tour gives Indian startups a chance to show their work and get the support they need to grow.

Akshay Aggarwal, Co-founder of Blockchained India, said, “India has a unique chance to shape how Web3 brings real value to people and businesses. This is a turning point. Let’s keep building with those who believe in the long-term value of Web3 and are committed to making it work for everyone.”

With strong support from global leaders like Bitget and Avalanche, India’s Web3 scene is set to grow even faster, giving more people the chance to learn, build, and succeed in the world of blockchain.
