EVEN, a growing music platform that helps artists sell directly to their fans, has announced it’s moving to the Avalanche blockchain to power its next phase of growth. The platform, which counts stars like J. Cole, LaRussell, 6LACK, and Smino among its users, is creating its own dedicated blockchain system using Avalanche’s technology.

EVEN is transforming the traditional music business model by allowing artists to release music directly to their fans first, rather than through streaming services. This approach helps musicians earn more money and get paid instantly.

“We built EVEN to return value and agency to artists, letting them own their moment and monetize on their terms,” explained Mag Rodriguez, CEO of EVEN. “By creating a parallel economy alongside streaming, we empower creators and superfans alike.”

The numbers tell a compelling story: on EVEN, a single engaged fan equals one sale, while on traditional streaming platforms, artists typically need over 1,250 paid streams or 3,750 ad-supported streams to earn the same amount.

Rapid growth demands better technology

With 50,000+ new artists joining weekly and plans to reach two million artists by year’s end, EVEN needed technology that could handle its explosive growth. The company chose Avalanche for its speed, cost-efficiency, and scalability.

The new blockchain system will enable features like:

  • Token-gated access to exclusive content
  • Transparent revenue distribution
  • Real-time analytics for artists to understand their fanbase
  • Seamless integration with industry partners like UnitedMasters

Chart recognition

Importantly, EVEN is the first direct-to-fan platform recognized by Luminate, the company behind the Billboard charts. This means artists can benefit from fan-powered monetization while still impacting their chart positions—a significant advantage for musicians looking to maintain industry relevance while exploring new business models.

“Their model is a compelling example of how Avalanche supports real world consumer applications,” said John Nahas, VP of Business Development at Ava Labs, the company behind Avalanche. “From music to finance, we are building the infrastructure that enables creators to thrive.”
