ChatGPT Plus Subscription: Is It Worth And What Could I do Differently From The Free Version?
If you have been using the artificial intelligence service from OpenAI recurrently, you have probably doubted whether a paid subscription would be worth it. But truth be told, 20 dollars or euros per month is something considerable, way more than what streaming platforms or Spotify usually cost monthly.
This initial subscription gives you access to the model GPT-4-turbo, which according to OpenAI is more accurate and faster than the 3.5 model that everyone gets to test freely.
At least on a surface level, we might be used to working with ChatGPT in its free version and feel pretty satisfied with its performance, so you would ask why bother paying for it.
But it would be unfair to say not much changes, because it does, as I have been able to see from colleagues that have started paying for it.
It will save you time
Precisely if you have used ChatGPT several times before you probably have already realized that the bot is not always equally efficient. Depending on the day and the hour, you end up wondering what changed from yesterday to today, since now the model is not providing answers as good as other times.
This is something normal, as OpenAI diversifies traffic in different ways depending on various factors when the servers get busy.

On top of this, sometimes you will feel tired of prompting ChatGPT with the same details so that it shares the output in the specific way that you need it, and you might have spotted wrong answers when taking the bot to the limit with complex homework.
Well, these are limitations that you probably can work around if you are using it occasionally or just giving it a try, but if you have already made your decision for ChatGPT to be your full-time colleague, studies mentor, instructor or day-to-day helper, these weaknesses will eventually get on your nerves.
Total adoption
My argument is that if you feel ready to adopt ChatGPT as a fixed part of your tool set just like Google or Windows itself, then you might be very interested in considering those 20 euros.
Going back to the people around me using it, I have seen that a colleague who is learning programming is much happier now that they’re paying for it. Just like OpenAI says, GPT-4-turbo is way better when it comes to high-level tasks like programming or problem-solving. It is also more open to personalization, making you able to provide all the information needed to give you more specific outputs, saving you time in writing longer prompts each time.
With the paid version, the machine will retain more memory for your preferences and personal needs, and in the long run, you will definitely feel the difference.
If you feel related to this case, feel free to explore the paid plans. If not, you will probably be good pushing the free ride for some more time.
