During the 2020-21 season, fifteen thousand Spanish users have not been able to go to the stadiums, but have played their own competition, enjoying the performance of their teams every day and exchanging digital cards (tokens) with other fans. The value of these cards increases according to the player’s performance on the field and their degree of exclusivity. Each season, a limited number of each player are distributed, classified as rare (one hundred), super rare (ten), and unique (only one for each player per team per season).
So far, Spanish players on the fantasy football platform Sorare have exchanged more than two million euros in trading cards. The most valuable of those sold so far -related to La Liga players- have been those of Jan Oblak (€9,500) and Thibaut Courtois (€3,858) among the goalkeepers; Emerson (€7,631) and Thierry Correia (€6,032) in defense; Kroos (€9,988) and Saúl (€9,105) in midfield; and João Felix (€18,900) and Maximiliano Gómez (€12,210) as strikers.

Ninety minutes, leaders of Europe


The Spanish are among the Europeans who spend the most time on this fantasy football platform: ninety minutes a day on average, surpassed only by the British who spend 95 minutes a day.
In addition, users from other countries show great interest in the Spanish La Liga and have marked Spanish clubs as favorite teams: Real Madrid CF (43,964 followers), FC Barcelona (28,806 followers), Club Atlético de Madrid (7,611 followers), Valencia CF (1,123 followers).
